The Opportunity

Nominate Recruitment is delighted to be working with a successful FMCG company based in Belfast to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant on a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a busy Finance Team and gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities, working closely with the Finance Director, Finance Manager, Commercial and Sales teams, as well as external logistics partners and suppliers.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy a varied workload and are looking for a role where you can really make an impact, this could be the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of the sales ledger, including credit control, recording customer receipts, EDI management, monthly direct debits and issuing customer statements.
  • Assist with the stock purchase ledger and order control, including processing purchase orders, recording shipping and receipt details, and tracking supplier and intercompany movements.
  • Manage the non-stock purchase ledger, including processing and coding invoices, obtaining approvals, maintaining the purchase order system and assisting with monthly payment runs.
  • Deal with supplier queries and liaise with internal budget holders as required.
  • Collate monthly recharges for submission to relevant brand owners.
  • Produce daily and month-end reports, including Daily Sales, FOC, Depletion, Stock and Debtors Reports.
  • Ensure appropriate monthly reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with invoice financing declarations and the processing of payments and drawdowns to support effective cash-flow management.
  • Take a hands-on approach to supporting the wider Finance Team across all aspects of the business.
  • Assist with maintaining effective accounting internal controls and ensuring continued compliance.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
  • Build effective working relationships across Finance, Commercial, Sales, Logistics and external suppliers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
