A well-established and innovative organisation based in Sheffield is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on an ongoing temporary basis. Operating within a specialist sector, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and services and offers a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Your new role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide key support to the finance function, helping to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day accounting operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders.
- Maintaining supplier accounts and resolving invoice queries.
- Assisting with payment runs and bank reconciliations.
- Raising sales invoices and supporting credit control activities.
- Processing employee expenses and company payments.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry within the finance system.
- Supporting month-end activities, including account reconciliations.
- Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance and administrative duties.

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar finance position.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team.
- Availability to start at short notice or immediately is highly desirable.
