Alexander Daniels is supporting a thriving property management business in central Birmingham to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves fast‑paced finance work, enjoys speaking with clients, and takes pride in keeping accounts accurate and arrears under control.

If you’re organised, confident, and ready to take ownership of credit control and accounts administration, this role offers strong development and a key position within a growing team.

The Role

  • Daily credit control and chasing arrears
  • Calling, emailing, and liaising with tenants, landlords, and internal teams
  • Allocating rent payments and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate tenant and landlord ledgers
  • Producing fortnightly arrears reports
  • Processing contractor, supplier, and agent invoices
  • Submitting and managing Let Alliance claims
  • Providing excellent customer service and supporting portfolio managers

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in accounts administration, credit control, or accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of arrears management and credit control processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communication skills — phone, email, and face‑to‑face
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Good Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
  • Professional, proactive, and client‑focused approach
  • Property sector experience is beneficial but not essential
