Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a varied role that combines accounts payable, payroll and month-end accounting responsibilities?
We're recruiting for an Accounts Controller to join a well-established and growing international manufacturing business based in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading organisation that operates on a global scale and offers genuine career development opportunities within a supportive and collaborative finance team.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking ownership of accounts payable processes, payroll administration and month-end accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate coding and approvals
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice and payment queries
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
- Managing cashbooks and posting bank transactions
- Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor balances
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and procedures

Payroll
- Processing monthly payroll for hourly-paid employees
- Preparing payroll journals, including wages, PAYE, National Insurance and pension entries
- Reconciling payroll-related accounts and balance sheet items
- Managing payroll accruals, including holiday pay and bonus provisions
- Ensuring HMRC submissions and payments are completed accurately and on time
Month-End & Financial Reporting
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and monthly journals
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Reviewing GRNI, creditor balances and overhead expenditure
- Completing intercompany reconciliations
- Supporting monthly reporting and overhead analysis
- Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements
About You:

- Previous experience within a busy finance environment
- Strong accounts payable and month-end accounting experience
- Payroll experience would be highly advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
- Confident user of Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system would be beneficial
