About The Company

Tax Effective Ltd is a small, modern, digital-first accountancy practice based in Bayswater, Central London.

We provide bookkeeping, accountancy and reporting support to a portfolio of clients. Through our sister company, the team also supports fractional CFO/FD services and financial analytics work.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients and support regular management reporting.

You will work alongside and report to the Senior Client Manager. This is a hands-on position for someone who is already confident managing bookkeeping tasks, preparing VAT returns, processing payroll and using Excel for reporting without close supervision.

The role offers the opportunity to build experience beyond core bookkeeping, including management reporting, financial analytics and advisory-related work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Xero, Sage and FreeAgent.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Processing client payroll.
  • Managing PAYE, pensions and auto-enrolment, RTI submissions and statutory payments.
  • Producing a daily management or “flash” report in Excel for a key client.
  • Producing monthly churn data and client summary reports.
  • Completing general finance administration to support the smooth running of the practice.
  • Working closely with the Senior Client Manager to ensure client work is accurate and completed on time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
