Finance Assistant – Leeds (LS10)
Are you an experienced finance professional with payroll experience looking for a varied finance role? Do you enjoy working as part of a supportive team where no two days are the same?
We're recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a well-established business based in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with payroll experience who is looking to broaden their finance skills within a busy and supportive finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. One day each week will be dedicated to processing the company's payroll, while the remainder of your time will be spent supporting the wider finance team across a range of accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage sales ledger activities, including raising invoices and allocating receipts.
- Process purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments.
- Support credit control activities and customer account management.
- Process employee expenses.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist the Finance Director and wider finance team with ad hoc finance duties as required.
About You
- Previous experience processing weekly and monthly payroll (essential).
- Experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
- Knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
