Location: Harrow Campus, London (HA2 7LX)
Part-Time | Permanent
Salary: £27,040 FTE per annum (£13.00 per hour). Actual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis according to contracted hours.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team and support the College's growing operations.


About the Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the College's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial administration, student finance, reconciliations, invoicing, procurement, and payroll support. You will work closely with the Finance Director and contribute to maintaining robust financial controls across the College.


Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and ledgers.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and support financial reporting processes.
  • Manage student payment records and assist with fee-related enquiries.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to students and external stakeholders.
  • Support debt recovery and student payment plan arrangements.
  • Liaise with HR and Finance teams to assist with payroll administration.
  • Support procurement activities and supplier management processes.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Respond professionally to financial enquiries from students, staff, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills
We're looking for someone who has:

  • A Diploma, degree, AAT qualification, or equivalent relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping environment.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.

Desirable

  • Working towards or holding ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT or another relevant professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience working within the education sector or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with student finance systems and related compliance requirements.
