Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a prestigious Edinburgh-based organisation as they look to recruit an Accounts Assistant into their finance function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating within a professional services environment, offering a varied role with exposure to cash management, reconciliations and financial administration.
Role Overview
Reporting into the finance team, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, ensuring that payments, receipts and account records are maintained to the highest standard. This role would suit an individual with previous experience in accounts, finance administration, cash allocation or banking operations who enjoys working in a highly detail-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile daily cash receipts and payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records across accounting and case management systems.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Process payment runs and account adjustments.
- Post transactions to the nominal ledger and member accounts.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Retrieve and review daily bank statements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding account and payment queries.
- Support weekly and month-end financial processes.
- Ensure all financial data is recorded accurately and in line with internal procedures.

Candidate Profile
We are keen to speak with finance professionals who enjoy working in a detail-oriented environment and take pride in maintaining accurate financial records. This role would suit someone with experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Receivable, Cash Allocation, Banking Administration or Finance Administration position who is looking to develop their career within a respected and professional organisation.

Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
- Strong bank reconciliation and payment processing experience.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good systems knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage.

- Salary of £28,000 - £31,000
