Accounts Assistant – 6-Month FTC
Glasgow Area
6-Month Fixed-Term Contract with Strong Potential to Become Permanent

We are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing organisation in the Glasgow area with the appointment of an Accounts Assistant on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a supportive team, gain broad exposure across the finance function, and potentially secure a permanent position following the initial contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting journals and completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end reporting and investigating account discrepancies.
  • Processing purchase invoices, supplier payments, and sales ledger transactions.
  • Supporting credit control, customer accounts, and invoice raising.
  • Analysing financial information and producing reports for management.
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and year-end activities.

About You

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or Assistant Accountant position.
  • Good understanding of journals, reconciliations, and core accounting principles.
  • Confident using Excel and finance systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Comfortable analysing financial information and investigating discrepancies.
  • Proactive, positive, and able to work collaboratively within a wider team.
