Accounts Assistant
Bigmore Associates is a long-standing and well-established financial services firm that offers a wide range of support and financial services to businesses and individuals.
We are looking for a Full Time Accounts Assistant to join us. Our office is based in Walton on Thames and this role is a hybrid working position with 3 days in the office and the flexibility to work 2 days a week from home. Our office hours are 8.30am to 5pm
You will be required to work full-time from the office during your probation period to support your training and integration into the team. Hybrid working arrangements will be made following successful completion of probation. We want to be transparent about this expectation from the outset and avoid creating any misunderstanding about office attendance requirements.
What skills, qualifications and experience do I need to have?
Attention to detail is vital, and skills such as problem-solving, time management, and excellent organisation are also required. Due to the field we work in, an extremely high level of confidentiality in this role is required, both internally and externally. This role will be part of a team, so ability to work with different people/styles is also important.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
