We are a small business that punches well above our weight and are seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant Apprentice to join our team. The role has real breadth; you will be involved in both the day-to-day finances and business operations. The role will provide you with exposure to many elements of the business and give you the opportunity to take your career in a new direction.

About You

We believe in potential and are excited to work with someone who’s passionate about starting a career in finance. This role is perfect for a school leaver who has completed A-levels and is looking to study AAT while gaining hands-on experience. The role will provide you with exposure to many elements of the business and give you the opportunity to progress as a finance professional. While prior experience in finance is not required, some form of work experience is ideal.

What to Expect as an Accounts Assistant Apprentice:

This is a learning-focused role, designed to support and guide you in developing the foundational skills needed to excel in finance. Working closely with our Financial Analyst, UK Finance Manager, and Chief Financial Officer, you'll have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and mentorship.

As an Accounts Assistant Apprentice, you can expect to be involved in a variety of tasks and responsibilities that will help you grow and develop. You will also work across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, which means your ability to build relationships, collaborate, and manage your workload will play a crucial role in your success.

Your role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities, with full training and support provided:

  • Learning how to prepare invoices and financial journals.
  • Developing your skills in managing accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Understanding and applying company policies to review employee expense claims accurately.
  • Building knowledge in payroll processing, tax returns, and audit preparation.
  • Gaining confidence in collaborating with clients and suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Assisting in creating financial reports and other business-critical documents.
  • Supporting the finance team with general administrative tasks.

Our Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship Programme ensures you'll master these tasks while studying towards your AAT qualifications. We provide a supportive environment where you can confidently grow into a skilled finance professional.   • Must have permanent right to work in the UK.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/5+ or equivalent).
  • 3 A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A problem-solver who works collaboratively and independently.

What are we offering?

  • Salary: Up to £26,500 depending on experience in addition to an OTE bonus.
  • Benefits include:
    • Pension: on joining, employees will be automatically enrolled in our workplace pension scheme.
    • Holiday Entitlement: employees receive 25 days per holiday year plus all statutory bank and public holidays in England and Wales.
    • Private Medical Insurance: employees will be enrolled onto the company BUPA healthcare scheme.
    • Insurances: Life Insurance and Critical Illness cover are provided to all employees.
    • Carbon Offset: Employees will be enrolled onto the company carbon offset scheme which is committed to offsetting at least 50% of all employee personal carbon emissions. All Turnkey employees are entitled to £40 worth of carbon credits each year, which can offset 7 tonnes of carbon. Options are available to increase carbon credit amounts which would be treated as a benefit in kind.
    • Qualifications: Our Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship Programme offers the opportunity to study towards your AAT qualifications.
  • Location: Based in our UK office near London Bridge, we offer hybrid working (expected office working three days per week). The successful applicant must be prepared to work away from home during the week if required. The successful applicant must also be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis as this position will not provide relocation costs or visa sponsorship.
