Business Administration Apprenticeship at Fletcher Engineers Ltd
A fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in Business Administration as an Accounts Assistant with Fletcher Engineers Ltd. You will work alongside our Finance Team, gaining hands-on experience in accounting and administration whilst working towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Hours
- Monday–Friday, 8.00am–5.00pm with a 1-hour dinner break.
- 40 hours a week

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, post cash receipts, and manage sales ledgers
- Reconciliations: Help reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and general ledger accounts
- Query Resolution: Answer internal and external finance queries via phone and email in a timely manner
- Data Management: Keep financial records accurate and update system details securely
- Professional Development: Attend training sessions, complete coursework on time, and pass required apprenticeship assessments
- General Administration: Manage incoming and outgoing post, monitor the team inbox, maintain digital and physical filing systems, and order office supplies as needed. This includes providing ad-hoc administrative support to the wider finance team during busy periods

What you'll learn
Course contents
Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:
- write letters or emails
- create proposals
- perform financial processes
- record and analyse data
Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including:
- emails
- letters
- files
- payments
- reports and proposals
Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English and Maths (grade 4 (C) or above / grade 4-9)
Finance/Account experience in:
- or a high GCSE grade (grade may be considered)
