Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Bredbury with office move to Central Stockport in Spring 2027

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern: Primarily office-based, with hybrid working available following successful completion of probation

Client Details

We are looking for a detail-focused Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable Specialist to join an experienced finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within finance and become an important part of a busy and supportive accounts function.

Description

The key responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant will include:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate supplier and customer records
  • Reconciling bank and control accounts
  • Supporting month-end processes and reporting
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing
  • Assisting the wider finance team with general accounting and administrative duties

Profile

A Successful Accounts Assistant Will Have

  • Previous accounts payable experience - essential
  • Knowledge of CIS and DRC VAT - highly desireable
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365/ Business Central / NAV would be advantageous
