The Company

Stream is on a mission to bring better financial wellbeing to frontline workers.

We partner with some of the world’s most famous employers, like Bupa, Burger King, Green King and the mighty NHS to give their teams access to fairer financial services - all built around flexible pay. Over three million people can now choose how often they’re paid, track their shifts and earnings, start saving, use budgeting tools, get free financial coaching, and access fairer financial products. All in one financial wellbeing super-app.

Stream is unique: VC-backed and growing at scale-up pace, but with a social conscience. Some of the world's leading financial charities and impact funds were our founding investors, and we operate on a social charter - which means every product we build has to improve financial health and reduce the $5.6bn ‘premium’ lower-income earners pay for financial services each year.

You’d be joining a team of over 300 passionate, ambitious people, across Europe and the USA, building a category-leading fintech product and all united by that same mission.

The Team

You will be joining a high performing Finance team and report directly to the Group Financial Controller. This is currently a standalone role, you will be the sole owner of the AP and AR function, working closely with the GFC and wider Finance team. We are a group focused on proactivity, collaboration, and a drive for exceptional outcomes. In this role, you will be expected to engage with the different departments of the business.

What will you be doing?

As the Accounts Assistant, you’ll own the AP & AR processes and be responsible for multi-currency bank reconciliations.

  • Accounts Payable: Be responsible for processing invoices and payments, ensuring payables are managed closely, via our automated AP software. Assist the GFC in cash management by planning weekly payment runs ensuring sufficient funds are available in operational bank accounts.
  • Employee Expense Management: Own the expense management and corporate card spend processing, following up with users to ensure complete information is provided and maintaining compliance with our expense policy.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Ensure that our multi-currency and banks are reconciled weekly, across all entities of the group, with queries raised and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Accounts Receivable: Own the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collection, payment reconciliation and bad debt review.
  • Automation and process improvements: Take ownership of embedding automation and process improvements into the AP/AR & Bank reconciliation workflow, from using LLMs to draft the first-pass commentary on weekly bank reconciliation variances (e.g. flagging and explaining unmatched or unusual items before they go to the GFC for review) and to automate recurring supplier query responses, to documenting and sharing best practices across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What experience might you have? (But if you’re close… we’d still love to talk to you!)

  • Proven experience in a combined or standalone AR/AP role, with hands-on invoicing and cash application experience.

Your Approach to Work

  • You are highly analytical and take full ownership for the quality and integrity of your work.
  • You are a proactive self-starter who doesn't just answer the questions asked but anticipates the next one.
  • You are genuinely AI-literate: you use LLMs as a core part of your daily workflow, not as an occasional shortcut. You can prompt effectively, critically evaluate AI output, and know its strengths and weaknesses. You have used AI to automate or accelerate finance tasks, whether that's building model commentary, synthesising data, drafting board materials, or streamlining repetitive reporting processes.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are comfortable juggling competing priorities and tight deadlines without sacrificing precision.
  • You are intellectually curious and have a strong desire for continuous learning and development.
  • You actively seek out feedback, are open to new ideas, and view challenges as opportunities to grow.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively across the organisation and influence both peers and senior stakeholders.

Technical skills

  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with accounting (for example Netsuite or Xero)
  • Experience with automated payable processing software (for example, Pivot, Tipalti, Ramp)
  • Experience with external billing engines, such as Stripe, are helpful but not essential.

Hybrid Collaboration

Our team is headquartered in London and typically gathers in the office 4 days weekly. We believe in the power of in-person interaction, while empowering you with the autonomy to manage your schedule effectively.
