Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Three Bridges Recruitment is working with a leading not-for-profit organisation in Edinburgh who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day donation processing and frontline customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic finance experience who is looking to grow their skills within a supportive, values-led environment.

Job

As Accounts Assistant, you’ll sit within a finance team of five and work closely with colleagues across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing donations and payments with accuracy and care
  • Managing weekly payment runs for approval
  • Reviewing purchase ledger statements and carrying out reconciliations
  • Resolving queries in a warm, empathetic and professional manner
  • Creating and updating database records
  • Supporting administrative tasks including preparing letters and stakeholder communication
  • Handling financial transaction processing
  • Assisting the wider team with finance queries
  • Filing, scanning and general administration

You will begin primarily office-based in Edinburgh, receiving close support as you settle in, with the option to transition to hybrid working after probation. This is a 6-month temporary role with genuine potential to become permanent.

You

As an Accounts Assistant, you will bring:

  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of empathy
  • A genuine desire to develop within a finance role
  • Basic finance experience and/or administration or customer service experience
  • A positive, can-do approach
  • Calmness under pressure and strong attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and time management
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
