Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant

Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant to support the daily financial and accounting operations of the organization. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling bank statements, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Maintaining financial documentation
  • Verifying expense claims
  • Assisting with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards

The role also involves:

  • Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies
  • Supporting audits by preparing required documentation
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and month-end closing procedures.
  • Ability to process financial transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities with the capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous process improvement.
