Vardey Recruitment is delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with a fabulous employer in the Christchurch, (near Bournemouth) Dorset region. We are seeking a Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) to join the welcoming, very friendly & ambitious team! The company are a well-established, flexible employer who are also a leader in their field, and can offer an Accounts Assistant job security as well as career growth and study support for AAT or ACCA Accountancy qualifications. An exciting time to join this highly professional and welcoming team, based in Christchurch, Dorset.
The Accounts Assistant Job Role
The job as the Finance Assistant is a newly created role, due to an internal promotion and will interest an Accounts Assistant seeking a varied and challenging role within a stable & ambitious company. The Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) will be working in a friendly team and supporting the Group Financial Accounts Manager, taking responsibility for the reconciliation of all group bank accounts, credit card accounts, petty cash and general expenses. In addition you will have responsibility for the provision of cashflow information as well as so much more!

- Posting daily banking entries and ensure all banking discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Working closely with management, you will be responsible for the provision of cashflow information.
- Responsible for all bank, credit card and petty cash expense reconciliations.
- Preparing journals for banking, credit cards, petty cash, financing, and general expenses.
- A key part of the job is to ensure payments and expenses are posted correctly with reference to VAT.
- Improving processes and to enhance efficiencies.
- Update bank mandates.
- Collaboratively you will support others within the team.
- Assisting within the finance team for example purchase ledger and general accountancy duties, month end etc.
- Ad hoc project work!

The ideal Finance Assistant candidate
- Experience in preparing bank reconciliations
- General bookkeeping knowledge and of debits and credits
- Some experience in VAT ideally
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work to deadlines
- Ambitious and keen to develop career
- You will have strong Excel skills as well as a good eye for detail
- Ideally keen to continue with AAT or at early stages of ACCA/CIMA studies!

- £26,000-£28,000 depending on experience
