Aberdeen Property Leasing (APL) is a local, independent lettings and property management agency based in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. With more than 35 years of continuous operation in the North-east, APL manages around 1,500 properties at any given time. The agency provides guidance to landlords and tenants on leasing, maintenance, rent collection, and administration, supporting smooth and compliant tenancies. APL also offers serviced apartments, enabling the team to support both residential and corporate clients with flexible accommodation solutions.
Role Description
The Accounts Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Aberdeen Area. The role involves supporting day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, recording payments, and assisting with rent collection and allocation. The Accounts Assistant will help with credit control activities, such as monitoring arrears, sending reminders, and maintaining accurate debtor records. Responsibilities also include updating accounting systems, reconciling accounts, preparing basic financial reports, and liaising with colleagues, landlords, tenants, and external partners to resolve account queries. The role requires accurate data entry, adherence to internal procedures, and support for the wider team during busy periods and month-end tasks.

- Candidates should possess skills in Finance and Accounting to support day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and basic reporting.
- Candidates should possess skills in Credit Control to manage arrears, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments professionally.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and interact with landlords, tenants, and external stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in accounts or bookkeeping within property, lettings, or a similar sector is beneficial.
- Proficiency with accounting or property management software and standard office applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email) is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment are important.
- A relevant qualification or training in accounting, finance, or business administration is advantageous.
