Salary: £45,000 - £56,000 per annum

About Us

We are recruiting for a growing accountancy and business advisory practice seeking an Assistant Client Manager to join its experienced accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Senior Accountant looking to take the next step, or an experienced Assistant Manager seeking a people-focused firm with strong progression opportunities. The role will involve managing a varied portfolio of clients, building strong relationships, supporting the delivery of high-quality accountancy services and helping to lead and develop junior team members. The position is well suited to someone who enjoys working closely with owner-managed businesses, providing practical advice and contributing to the continued growth of a forward-thinking accountancy practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing support and advice
  • Oversee the preparation of accounts, tax returns and associated compliance work
  • Review work prepared by junior members of the accounts team
  • Work closely with directors and senior managers to deliver a high-quality client service
  • Support clients with queries relating to accounts, tax and business advisory matters
  • Coordinate workflow across the team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members
  • Identify opportunities to support clients with additional services
  • Assist with client retention and contribute to new client relationships
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to provide a joined-up service

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
