Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover – Fixed Term)
Expected duration: 6–9 months
Location: Knockin, near Oswestry
Working Hours: 3 days a week (days to be agreed), 9am–3pm
Start Date: Tuesday 4th September 2026

Job Overview
In this role the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger function, ensuring that supplier invoices are processed accurately, payments are made on time, and records are maintained in line with company procedures. This role requires a high level of accuracy, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while working collaboratively with the finance team and wider business.

Responsibilities
- Posting and generating payments to suppliers
- Reconciling statements against supplier invoices posted onto Sage – requesting any missing invoices
- Dealing with any query invoices
- Sending invoices to relevant Site Managers and Buyers for approval
- Preparing and processing the weekly supplier payment run
- Setting up new suppliers on Sage
- Completing credit application forms
- Remittances
- Matching delivery tickets to invoices
- Monitoring Accounts emails and actioning as required
Requirements
As an Accounts Assistant the successful candidate will be expected to have:
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Sage 50 Accounts
- Experience of Microsoft Office
Pay And Benefits
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience
- 21 days holiday (pro rata)
