Role Description
The Accounts Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London, supporting the finance and accounting functions of Shah's Halal Food UK. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Processing invoices
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Managing petty cash transactions
- Assisting with credit control activities such as tracking payments and following up on outstanding balances
- Reconciling accounts
- Supporting month-end and year-end procedures
- Ensuring compliance with internal accounting standards

Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance skills, including basic bookkeeping, invoice processing, and account reconciliation.
- Experience or familiarity with credit control practices, such as monitoring receivables and supporting payment collection.
- Ability to manage petty cash responsibly, maintain accurate cash records, and follow internal financial procedures.
- Effective communication skills for working with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
- Proficiency with accounting software and standard office tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Greater London and collaborate within a team-oriented setting.
- Relevant qualification or training in accounting, finance, or a related field is beneficial; previous experience in an accounts or administrative role is an advantage.
