Accounts Assistant

Chester

Flexible Part-Time Hours (22.5 hours per week / 3 days per week)

£26,100 FTE

We’re looking for a motivated, personable Accounts Assistant to join our Chester team. It’s a great opportunity to work in a supportive, fast-paced environment that values collaboration and success. This opportunity offers flexible working arrangements averaging 22.5 hours per week. Whether you prefer three full working days or flexible hours spread across the week, we’re happy to work with you to find a pattern that suits your lifestyle.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function across the business, with responsibilities including:

  • Processing daily company income
  • Raising and recording payments across relevant systems
  • Handling day-to-day finance queries
  • Managing shared and personal finance inboxes
  • Processing staff expenses and company credit cards
  • Completing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Responding to supplier queries and incoming ledger-related calls
  • Processing sales and purchase ledger invoices
  • Posting journals to support month-end processes
  • Sending remittances and resolving related queries
  • Carrying out system reconciliations to maintain accuracy
  • Inputting and managing direct debits

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 1 years’ experience within a finance or accounts role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage high volumes of data and meet deadlines
  • Confidence communicating with suppliers and third-party contacts
  • Experience using accounting software, ideally Sage
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • A positive, self-motivated approach to work
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
