Your new company:

You will be joining a well-established and highly respected organisation based in Swansea, operating within the property and professional services sector. With a strong reputation in its market and a long-standing client base, the business continues to grow and is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of an Accounts Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hands-on accounts experience, ideally AAT Level 4 qualified or studying, who is looking for a varied role offering exposure to both finance and client-facing responsibilities. The position sits within the residential property management division and provides the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders while developing a broad range of accounting skills.

Your new role:

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial management of a diverse property portfolio. This is a varied position combining transactional and management accounting responsibilities with regular interaction with clients and key stakeholders. The role offers excellent exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and client liaison, making it ideal for someone looking to continue progressing their finance career within a professional and supportive environment.

  • Preparing monthly expenditure reports
  • Producing budgets and forecasts for client portfolios
  • Supporting year-end accounts preparation
  • Managing service charge invoicing
  • Preparing and issuing client statements
  • Monitoring arrears and supporting credit control activities
  • Processing purchase ledger transactions and supplier payments
  • Completing bank and control account reconciliations
  • Posting journals and supporting month-end accounting processes
  • Attending client meetings and presenting financial information when required
  • Responding to client finance queries and building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative duties as required

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar accounting role
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals and supplier payments
  • Good working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Confident communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders
  • Proactive and adaptable approach with a willingness to support wider business activities

Desirable:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified, studying, or equivalent experience
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Previous exposure to management accounts or year-end accounts preparation
  • Experience within property, professional services or client accounting environments
  • Experience using property management or integrated finance systems
