Accounts Assistant (Part Qualified) - Edinburgh Hybrid - 28-33K

Lorien’s client - a firm with bases across the UK operating in a very busy sector - is looking to secure the talents of a part-qualified (the firm will help you through your certifications) Junior Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will have plenty of opportunities to progress in your career, upskill as you go, benefit from a company that will actively help you in your ongoing qualifications towards ACCA, etc., and enjoy a varied, evolving workload as you learn.

Their office is located in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, very commutable by train, tram and bus, and having introduced people into this team ourselves, we’re happy to share with you the great feedback we've received already, and how promising a role within this organisation can be.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
