At Fedcap UK, our Accounts Assistants play a vital role in ensuring our claims and financial processes run smoothly. You'll work closely with colleagues, employers, and funding bodies to process claims, maintain accurate records, and help maximise contract revenue, all while delivering an excellent service to our internal and external customers.

Location: On-site in Thornaby, Stockton (TS17 6DY)
Salary: £26,277
Contract: 12-month Fixed-Term

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the claims process for allocated contracts, ensuring claims are processed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed timescales.
  • Review and investigate claims, resolving issues and liaising with employers to obtain the evidence required to maximise revenue and improve cash flow.
  • Maintain accurate customer and financial records, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements and contract guidance.
  • Respond to enquiries from colleagues, customers, funding bodies, and other stakeholders, providing a professional and timely service.
  • Carry out a range of administrative tasks to support the Finance team and wider business.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, providing support across the team during periods of annual leave, sickness, or increased demand.
  • Operate in line with Finance procedures, service level agreements, and quality standards.

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service to internal or external customers.
  • Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications and databases.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across a range of stakeholders.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience processing claims, invoices, reconciliations, or maintaining financial records.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Experience within the employability, skills, or welfare-to-work sector.
  • An AAT qualification or currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, or CIMA.
