Accounts Assistant Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a friendly and growing finance team within a well-established organisation. What You'll Do:
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function. Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll assist with month-end activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.

Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring all cash and banking transactions are accurately recorded and reporting deadlines are met.
- Preparing journals relating to cash, bank movements, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any outstanding reconciling items.
- Assisting with daily cash management, cash flow reporting, and ensuring bank balances are accurately maintained.
- Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions, bank transfers, and internal funding movements.
- Supporting the production of cash reporting, management information, and financial reports for the wider finance team.
- Assisting with year-end audit requirements, preparing cash and bank schedules, and responding to auditor queries.
- Ensuring financial controls, banking procedures, and internal policies are followed at all times.
- Helping improve cash management processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
- Working closely with colleagues, banks, and other stakeholders to resolve cash, payment, and banking queries efficiently.

The successful candidate will have some previous finance experience and be looking to continue developing their accounting knowledge within a supportive environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
- Strong Excel skills, including functions such as Pivot Tables and Lookups.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Either be studying towards, or interested in studying towards, an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
