Glasgow | 3-Month Temporary Contract (Sickness Cover)

£28,000 - £30,000 (Pro Rata)

THE ORGANISATION

This established and growing business is seeking a Temporary Accounts Assistant to support its finance team during a period of absence. Operating within a fast-paced environment, the organisation prides itself on delivering high standards, maintaining accurate financial records, and fostering a collaborative working culture.

THE ROLE

The Temporary Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Processing purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger.
  • Raising sales invoices and supporting the sales ledger function.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Processing bank transactions and completing regular bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with payment runs and cash allocation activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting document management processes.
  • Supporting month-end activities through reconciliations and transactional reporting.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries.
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role.
  • Good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workload in a busy environment.
  • Available to commit to a 3-month temporary assignment.
