About the Role
We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our growing Finance team at Abbott Lyon.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a transactional finance or accounts environment who is looking to build their career within a fast-paced, high-growth eCommerce business. Working closely with the Management Accountant and wider Finance team, you’ll play an important role in keeping our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly and ensuring our financial records remain accurate and well controlled.
You’ll be involved across a varied range of transactional finance activities, including accounts payable, reconciliations, expenses, ledger maintenance, sales invoicing and general finance administration. You’ll also work closely with teams across Buying, Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial, making this a role with plenty of exposure across the wider business.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…
- Support the day-to-day running of Abbott Lyon’s Finance function, ensuring transactions and financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes, support payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Process and reconcile employee expenses, ensuring claims are accurate and appropriately supported.
- Maintain purchase, sales and nominal ledgers and assist with journals and accounting adjustments where required.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and support periodic reviews of fixed assets and related financial information.
- Raise invoices for trade customers and wholesale partners.
- Support month-end activities through the preparation of reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Respond to finance queries from internal teams, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and accurate financial documentation and audit trails.
- Support the Finance team with reporting, audits, projects and process improvements.
- Help maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our processes.

We’re Excited About You Because…
- You have at least 1 year’s experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- You have a good understanding of accounts payable processes, bookkeeping and reconciliations.
- You have experience processing invoices, expenses and other financial documentation.
- You’re confident using Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and basic formulas.
- Experience using accounting software is beneficial; we currently use Sage50.
- You have excellent attention to detail and take pride in getting things right.
- You’re organised, proactive and able to manage and prioritise your workload effectively.
- You’re comfortable working independently but are also a supportive and collaborative team player.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel confident working with stakeholders across the business.
- You understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information.
- You’re positive, willing to learn and keen to continue developing your career within Finance.
