Accounts Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Circa £35,000 DOE
Hybrid working
An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing specialist insurance business in Birmingham, working closely with the Financial Controller.
This role offers broad exposure across finance, including:
- Accounts payable, expenses and payment runs
- Bank reconciliations and cash management
- Month-end accounting and journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Audit and financial reporting
- Insurance accounting and regulatory reporting
- Finance controls and process improvement

About you:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, AP or similar role
- Good understanding of basic accounting and double-entry bookkeeping
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Confident using Excel
- Proactive, reliable and keen to develop
- Accounting qualification or financial services experience is advantageous
