White Horse Employment are pleased to be working with a well-established international business based in Melksham on the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and friendly finance team, supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function across their international entities.
Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring financial information is processed accurately and on time. This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys transactional finance, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking for a long-term role within a supportive business.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions accurately and efficiently
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function
- Reconciling supplier, customer and bank accounts
- Assisting with payment runs, invoicing and credit control activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting data integrity
- Assisting with month-end processes and financial reporting
- Supporting finance systems, processes and general administration
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve finance queries
- Providing general support to the wider finance team and assisting with ad hoc projects

What we are looking for
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger or similar transactional finance role
- Strong experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
- Good Excel skills, including experience with functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and SUMIF
- Experience using an ERP system would be advantageous
- AAT qualification or similar would be beneficial but is not essential
