About the Role
You will develop essential financial, administrative, and organisational skills while supporting the day-to-day activities of our finance function. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced colleagues and supporting a range of financial processes that help the organisation operate effectively.

What You'll Do
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
At Work
As an Accounts Apprentice, you will:
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and financial documents accurately.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
- Support with bank reconciliations and general ledger tasks.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and spreadsheets.
- Process payments and monitor outstanding balances where required.
- Maintain organised electronic and paper-based filing systems.
- Respond to finance-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Support month-end processes and other routine finance activities.
- Ensure financial information is handled confidentially and in line with company policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

What You'll Learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues, such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience, and different media methods, with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training Schedule
Your apprenticeship teaching and learning sessions will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams remotely face to face on an individual basis with your Tutor at least once a month. You will undertake learning on-the-job with the organisation in the workplace.
More Training Information
Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that applicants do hold a GCSE in English and Maths at Grade 4/C. In addition to this successful candidates will be:
- Be organised, reliable, and able to manage their time effectively.
- Have an interest in finance, accounting, and business operations.
- Have good numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Have basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have a positive attitude and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and professionalism.
