Summary
Aptine Care Services is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts & Finance Apprentice to join our team and gain practical experience while working towards an appropriate apprenticeship qualification. You will provide administrative and financial support to the business, developing practical skills in accounts administration.
Wage: £17,680 a year
Training course: Assistant accountant (level 3)
Hours: Monday to Friday. 40 hours a week
Start date: Friday 8 January 2027
Duration: 1 year 6 months

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, willing to learn and interested in developing a career in accounting, finance and business administration within the health and social care sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and maintaining financial and administrative records.
- Assisting with sales and purchase invoices.
- Supporting invoice reconciliation and payment records.
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.
- Supporting payroll administration and checking timesheet information.
- Assisting with staff hours, mileage and expense records.
- Updating spreadsheets and financial databases.
- Supporting the preparation of routine financial reports.
- Assisting with debtor and outstanding invoice monitoring.
- Filing and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
- Supporting general office administration.
- Handling confidential information appropriately and maintaining data protection standards.
- Assisting with financial queries and directing more complex matters to the appropriate manager.
- Supporting the wider Aptine team with administrative tasks when required.
Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training provider: HRUC (HARROW, RICHMOND & UXBRIDGE COLLEGES)
Training course: Assistant accountant (level 3)
What you'll learn:
- Assist with the investigation of, and response to, financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements, and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve, or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using a range of approaches and media, with an understanding of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
Training schedule:

The apprentice will receive structured workplace learning and supervision while completing their apprenticeship programme. They will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and practical skills in:
- Bookkeeping and accounts administration.
- Financial record keeping.
- Invoicing and reconciliation.
- Payroll processes.
- Excel and other digital accounting systems.
- Business administration.
- Data protection and confidentiality.
- Financial controls and good governance.
- Professional communication.
- Working within a regulated health and social care environment.

Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- GCSE in: Maths and English (grade 4-9)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
