Job Opportunity: Accounts Manager

TPF Recruitment, the Southeast's leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, are recruiting for an Accounts Manager to join a highly reputable, and fantastic quality firm of chartered accountants, based in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

You will be joining a fast-growing and successful practice, where you will work in a general practice capacity within the accounts team. This position is being recruited as a consequence of growth and presents an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to progress in their career. You will be offered exposure to complex, high-value work, dealing with prestigious national and international clients. You will be given lots of autonomy, where you will have direct client contact and the opportunity to oversee a small team too.

A large proportion of the position can be built around the candidate's experience/ aspirations but as an example you will be responsible for:

  • Managing your own small portfolio of clients, reporting to the Directors.
  • Reviewing of accounts for your clients, including preparation of accounts, consolidations, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
  • Managing a team of Assistant Manager, Senior and Junior-level accountants, being responsible for their growth and development.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Experience working for a firm of Chartered Accountants in a similar role. Candidates currently working at an Assistant Manager level will also be considered.
  • Be able to competently review complex accounts and accounting work to a high standard, ready for final director review.
  • Comfortable and competent running meetings with clients.
  • Experience mentoring and reviewing work is a must. You won’t need to have hands-on experience managing a team but this experience is desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts preparation, management accounts, tax, and VAT.
  • Previous experience reviewing work prepared by more junior members of staff.

Benefits

  • £50,000 - £55,000 dependent on experience and qualification status.
  • Hybrid working available (3 days in the office, 2 from home).
