Accounts Manager (Transactional & VAT) - Fforestfach
Salary: £35,000
Location: Fforestfach, Swansea
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Working pattern: Fully site-based
Type: Permanent
We are recruiting for an Accounts Manager to join a growing multi-entity, multi-site business based in Fforestfach, Swansea. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day transactional finance function, VAT and supporting the wider finance requirements across a number of entities.
Working as part of a small finance team, you will oversee transactional finance activities while working closely with senior management. The role will suit someone who has a strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT and month-end processes, and who is comfortable working across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing a small finance team
- Responsibility for day-to-day transactional finance
- Oversight of purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Payment runs
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Supporting month-end processes
- Reviewing and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting P&L and management reporting
- Working across multiple entities and sites
- Supporting year-end processes
- Maintaining financial controls
- Providing financial information to senior management
- Improving finance processes and procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Manager, Senior Accounts or similar position
- Strong transactional finance experience
- Good understanding of VAT and VAT returns
- Experience across AP and AR
- Experience working across multiple entities
- Good understanding of month-end processes
- Strong Excel and accounting systems experience
- Ability to manage and support a small finance team
- A hands-on approach and the ability to work independently
- PQ or AAT qualification/studies would be desirable but are not essential
