Role Overview

As an Accounts Manager you will:

  • Perform the final review of draft financial statements, ensuring absolute consistency with accounting standards and client records.
  • Lead the strategic preparation and high-level review of complex consolidations and group company accounts.
  • Manage, monitor, and take ultimate accountability for a substantial client portfolio, identifying work-in-progress issues, managing budgets, and overseeing statutory filing deadlines.
  • Deliver specialised advisory work and act as a key technical resource, providing expert guidance, mentorship, and support on complex accounting issues to the wider team.
  • Supervise, delegate, and review the work of managers, seniors, and junior team members to ensure compliance and technical accuracy before final sign-off.

Requirements

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Be fully ACCA or ACA qualified with significant post-qualification experience within a public practice environment.
  • Possess extensive experience and expert knowledge in producing single entity and group (consolidated) year-end financial statements, as well as accounts for audit.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of managing a diverse client portfolio and leading, developing, and mentoring professional teams.
  • Exhibit advanced time management, organisational, and commercial skills, with the capability to manage conflicting priorities across a portfolio to strict deadlines.
  • Hold strong IT capabilities, including intermediate to advanced levels in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
