Your new company
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious and highly respected accountancy practice at a transformative point in its growth journey.
Significant investment has been committed to the firm's North West operations, with Manchester identified as a key strategic growth hub. As a result, the leadership team is seeking an experienced Accounts Partner who can play a central role in driving the next phase of expansion, helping to shape both the future of the office and the wider business.
The firm combines a long-established reputation, loyal client base and strong technical credentials with the support and resources of a larger group structure. Whilst external investment has accelerated growth ambitions, the business continues to operate with a highly entrepreneurial culture, where local leadership remains firmly at the forefront of decision-making and strategic direction.
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Partner to help build something significant, leading growth, developing people and influencing the future direction of the practice over the coming years.
Your new role
Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will be a key figure in shaping and delivering the firm's long-term growth strategy across Manchester and the wider North West region.
This is not simply a portfolio management role. This is an opportunity to become one of the driving forces behind an ambitious growth agenda, helping to increase market presence, strengthen client relationships, attract top talent and develop a high-performing team capable of supporting substantial future expansion.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and growing a substantial portfolio of owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
- Working alongside fellow Partners and senior leadership to define and execute the firm's strategic objectives.
- Driving the continued growth of the Manchester office, establishing the firm as a leading advisory and accountancy provider within the region.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to clients on growth, succession, profitability and long-term commercial strategy.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities whilst developing existing client relationships.
- Raising the profile and visibility of the firm across the North West through networking, thought leadership and relationship building.
- Leading succession planning initiatives and helping to develop the next generation of leaders within the firm.
- Recruiting, mentoring and developing talent to support the office's ambitious growth plans over the next 3-5 years.
- Acting as a key ambassador for the business, culture and values of the firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
