Role Overview

We're partnering with a successful international organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their growing Finance team on an initial 1 month temporary assignment (potential for extension or a permanent opportunity). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced AP professional looking to join a collaborative business where you'll have exposure across multiple international entities and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts payable function.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused accounts payable service across the group.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, employee expenses, credit card transactions, and payment runs
  • Preparing domestic and international payments through online banking platforms
  • Completing bank and supplier reconciliations
  • Managing invoice approval workflows and maintaining accurate records
  • Reviewing VAT coding and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Resolving supplier and stakeholder queries efficiently
  • Supporting month-end activities, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitoring outstanding purchase orders and unauthorised invoices
  • Maintaining robust AP controls and documentation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and system utilisation

Role Requirements

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced finance environment.

You will have:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience
  • Bank reconciliation experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining quality
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar cloud-based finance system (preferred)
  • Knowledge of online banking platforms
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A positive, hands-on approach with a strong customer service mindset
