Accounts Payable Clerk
Permanent | Flexible Working Available

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchase ledger professional looking for a varied role within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

Working as part of a dedicated Accounts Payable team, you will play a key role in ensuring supplier invoices, expenses and payments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders whilst helping to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a busy shared Accounts Payable inbox and responding to supplier queries.
  • Processing and matching invoices against purchase orders.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
  • Monitoring and resolving unmatched invoices and workflow exceptions.
  • Processing employee and student expense claims.
  • Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Maintaining supplier records and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Assisting with foreign invoice payments and associated administration.
  • Supporting month-end activities and providing cover across the finance function when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger position.
  • A strong understanding of the end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using finance systems, with Agresso experience is highly advantageous.
  • A positive, proactive and team-focused approach.
