We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining accurate records, and building strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers. You will play an important part in ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase ledger, company expenses, banking activities, and stock-related financial processes.

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the Finance function. You will be responsible for processing purchase ledger transactions, managing supplier payments, supporting expense administration, and maintaining accurate financial records. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Procurement, and the wider business, you will help ensure financial processes are completed accurately, suppliers are supported effectively, and strong financial controls are maintained across AirTanker

What you'll be doing

  • Processing purchase ledger transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Supporting the preparation and administration of payment runs.
  • Processing employee expenses and managing company credit card reconciliations.
  • Managing supplier correspondence and responding to finance-related queries.
  • Supporting inventory and stock-related purchase ledger activities.
  • Assisting with supplier approval processes.
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate records, filing systems, and financial documentation.
  • Providing general administrative and finance support across the team.
  • Ensuring finance policies and procedures are followed at all times

What you'll bring

  • Previous administration experience within a medium-sized or large organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based systems.
  • Experience working within a finance environment.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised when working to deadlines.
