Accounts Payable Assistant (Supplier Queries)
About the Role
Our client, a well-established distribution business, is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their busy finance team, with a focus on resolving supplier queries. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where you'll act as the key point of contact for investigating and resolving invoice issues, working closely with both suppliers and internal departments to keep accounts moving smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries, including price and quantity discrepancies
- Reconcile supplier accounts and process credit notes
- Liaise directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
- Manage a high volume of queries while maintaining accuracy and meeting targets
- Build strong working relationships across multiple departments

Requirements
- Previous experience in a fast-paced Accounts Payable or query resolution role
- Comfortable working with large volumes of transactions (any industry background considered)
- Confident using Microsoft-based finance/ERP systems
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and account reconciliation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
- A collaborative, team-focused approach

Working Pattern
- Full-time in the office during the initial probationary period
- Moving to hybrid working (up to 2 days per week from home on fixed, agreed days) once probation is successfully completed.
