Company Overview

We're partnering with a successful global professional services business to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their large finance team in London. Reporting directly to the Treasury Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function while gaining exposure to wider finance and treasury activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience who is looking to build their career within a fast-paced, international organisation. Based in their London office 2-3 days a week, you will have the option to work from home on the remaining days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Managing employee expense claims and ensuring timely payments
  • Reconciling bank accounts and investigating outstanding items
  • Assisting with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Allocating and reconciling payments across multiple accounts
  • Resolving supplier queries and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Processing company credit card transactions
  • Supporting month-end activities, accruals and prepayments
  • Assisting with treasury and cash management processes where required

Role Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience within an Accounts Payable or Accounts/Finance Assistant role
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Comfortable working with high volumes of transactions and deadlines
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience using finance systems (ERP exposure advantageous)
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude
  • Studying towards AAT or another accountancy qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential
