Accounts Payable Clerk

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll handle the day-to-day processing of invoices and payments, ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting function. Based at Surrey Research Park, this temporary to permanent role is vital for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team.

An organisation within the industrial and manufacturing sector located at Surrey Research Park.

Description

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding to the correct accounts.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
  • Monitor and respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities as required.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
