Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours per week)

Role Overview
Introduction to the role:
We are seeking to recruit a proactive Accounts Payable Controller to support our accounts payable function. The entire function is split into two specialisms: third party disbursements processing including soft and hard disbursements and anticipated disbursements; and supplier invoice processing, management of direct debits and expenses. This role will help manage the company’s purchase ledger processes, ensuring timely posting of costs, managing payment runs and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal clients. The ideal candidate will work effectively and efficiently, will have a keen eye for detail and have experience of working as part of an accounts payable team.
This role reports to the Senior AP Controllers and has responsibility for efficient and effective processing of costs across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively process third parties’/suppliers’ costs on a timely basis.
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with VAT rules and invoice requirements
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations on a monthly basis flagging any discrepancies
- Ensure that costs are posted to the correct nominal code.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve payment and other queries.
- Obtain approval from internal stakeholders for all costs.
- Prepare and assist with regular payment runs

What Are We Looking For
Important criteria:
- Good IT skills across a broad range of applications including MS Excel
- Good analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to be assertive when handling difficult situations or people
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proactive and determined attitude
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to learn to work with new systems
It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:
- Previous experience working in an accounts payable role
