Accounts Payable Manager (6-Month FTC)

Are you an Accounts Payable leader who embraces AI and automation?

We're seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Accounts Payable Manager to join a fast-growing, international organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious AP professional to take ownership of a high-volume accounts payable function while driving innovation through AI, automation, and process improvement.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in optimising the purchase-to-pay process across multiple entities, currencies, and suppliers, helping to build a scalable and efficient AP operation.

The Role

As Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end AP function within a fast-paced international environment. You'll lead operational excellence, improve controls, support ERP development, and champion automation initiatives that reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and robust controls across the purchase-to-pay cycle.
  • Oversee high-volume invoice processing across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Lead supplier payment runs, reconciliations, and ledger management.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for supplier and internal finance queries.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and purchase order systems.
  • Drive AI-led automation initiatives including invoice capture, OCR, workflow automation, and reporting enhancements.
  • Produce AP KPI reporting, ageing analysis, and month-end deliverables.
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to improve processes and compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small AP team.

We're looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable professional who combines operational excellence with a passion for technology and continuous improvement.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience managing a high-volume Accounts Payable function.
  • Proven success implementing AI, automation, or AP process improvements.
  • Experience with AP automation platforms and cloud-based finance systems such as Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills.
  • Ability to quickly assess existing processes and deliver improvements within a contract environment.

Desirable

  • Experience implementing AP automation or AI-driven invoice processing solutions.
  • Knowledge of workflow automation tools.
  • Experience within high-growth, media, events, entertainment, or similar dynamic environments.
