Accounts Payable Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000

A leading organisation is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee payments and ledger management within a thriving finance function. You'll shape and nurture a dedicated team, drive operational excellence, and ensure financial integrity across supplier payment processes. What you'll do
- Lead the Accounts Payable Payments & Ledger team, setting clear objectives aligned with KPIs and SLAs.
- Guide the team through coaching sessions, performance reviews, and development plans, ensuring supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and reconciliation.
- Act as the escalation point for complex queries.
- Drive process improvements, identifying automation opportunities that streamline operations.
- Maintain internal control frameworks across payments and ledgers, ensuring compliance with group policies and regulatory standards.

What you bring
- Minimum five years' AP experience in a high-volume environment.
- Proven track record managing teams focused on payments, cash management, or ledger control.
- Comprehensive understanding of AP payment processes, cash flow management, and ledger controls.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (D365, SAP, or Oracle) and strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills for investigating discrepancies and reconciling accounts.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in multi-ledger or construction/hire environments is desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and a continuous improvement mindset.
