Accounts Payable Officer (21 hours/week)

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer (21 hours/week) to support the efficient and effective functioning of the accounts payable and purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle. The post holder will support the automation of processes to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable function and strengthen relationships with suppliers.

Accountabilities

Your accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure accounts payable and P2P cycle is completely and accurately performed on a timely basis
  • Accurately review payment proposal files including posting of direct debits from our bank accounts into supplier accounts and resolving any unposted/missing invoices
  • Resolve internal/external accounts payable queries relating to invoices/purchase orders (PO’s)
  • Support users with training on the P2P system and accounts payable processes
  • Accurately perform monthly reconciliations for all suppliers and related balance sheet accounts

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • AAT qualified or part qualified accountant or suitable alternative commensurate experience
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and purchase order-to-pay good practice
  • Accounts payable and purchase order-to-pay experience
  • Strong digital skills including Excel and specialist finance systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
