The Company
Our client is a leading boutique investment firm based in the City. They are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist within banking/financial services to own the end-to-end AP function across multi-entity operations.
The Responsibilities
- End-to-end AP processing: coding, approvals, and posting in NetSuite.
- Payment runs: Prepare weekly/monthly payment runs, ensuring correct approval workflows and liquidity alignment.
- Supplier management: Maintain vendor master data (KYC/AML checks where applicable), reconcile statements, resolve disputes, and monitor credit terms.
- Banking & reconciliations: Support bank reconciliations, cash management, and payment cut-offs; investigate variances promptly.
- Expenses & cards: Oversee employee expenses and corporate card transactions, enforce policy compliance, and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Tax & reporting: Validate VAT treatment, assist with monthly VAT reports, and produce AP ageing reports/dashboards.
- Period close: Support month-end close—accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and VAT checks.
- Stakeholder engagement: Partner with Department Heads to streamline P2P, reduce exceptions, and enhance supplier experience.

Experience Required
- Financial Services/Banking AP experience (multi-entity; high-volume; approval workflows).
- Advanced NetSuite proficiency
- Strong understanding of VAT, invoice coding, accruals/prepayments, and AP subledger integrity.
- Familiarity with controls frameworks and regulatory expectations (FCA principles in FS context).
- Proven ability to prioritise in a deadline-driven environment; meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills; confident handling suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and comfort with AP/OCR automation tools.
