About the Role

Learning Pool is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable process, ensuring invoices, expenses, and vendor payments are processed accurately and on time. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to keep our financial records reliable and our supplier relationships running smoothly.

You'll have the chance to contribute directly to the accuracy and efficiency of our finance operations, with support to develop your skills and take on more responsibility over time.

Location: UK Remote

What you will be doing

Responsibilities will include:

  • Process high volumes of invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process and reconcile bank accounts
  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts (3-way matching)
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Process employee expense claims in line with company policy
  • Prepare and process payment runs (e.g. BACS, wire transfers → electronic payment runs)
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor queries
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and controls

Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience: You will have proven experience in an accounts payable or finance role.
  • Attention to Detail: You will demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing high volumes of financial data.
  • Excel Skills: You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Systems Knowledge: We are using NetSuite, though previous experience is not mandatory.
  • Communication: You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Organisation: You will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Qualifications: An AAT qualification, or progress towards one, would be an advantage.
  • Self-Motivation: You will be self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solving: You will take ownership of your work, proactively resolve issues and see tasks through to completion.
