Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Slough with hybrid working

Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits


This role sits at the heart of an exciting venture between Jameel Motors and GAC, established to introduce the AION range of intelligent electric vehicles to the UK market.

As part of the growing AION Auto UK team, you will help support the financial foundations of the business, ensuring efficient processes, accurate financial records and strong supplier relationships.

Role Overview

As Accounts Payable Specialist, reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring supplier invoices and employee expenses are processed accurately and payments are made on time.

Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Procurement and the wider business, you will help maintain robust financial controls, support month-end activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies, supporting documentation requirements and UK tax legislation
  • Reconcile supplier accounts, investigate discrepancies and resolve invoice and payment queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare and coordinate weekly payment runs, ensuring all payments are accurate, authorised and made within agreed timescales
  • Support month-end and cash flow forecasting activities, including accruals, supplier statement reviews and balance confirmations
  • Maintain strong financial controls across the accounts payable function, helping to minimise risk and ensure high levels of accuracy
  • Support the ongoing improvement of procure-to-pay processes and systems, while maintaining accurate AP and fixed asset records.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in an Accounts Payable position, ideally within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Experience using SAP or another ERP system, along with exposure to payment processing and online banking platforms
  • Good understanding of accounts payable processes, month-end activities and UK tax compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and awareness of financial controls and risk management
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
