Purchase Ledger Clerk - Sports & Events
Central London | Office-based Monday-Friday
Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk looking for your next opportunity within the exciting world of sport and events?
We are working with a leading sports and events business that is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join its Finance team in central London. Working alongside the Finance Director, Management Accountants and Event Finance team, you will play an important role in supporting the financial operations across a number of high-profile sporting events and projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and wants to build their career within the sports and events industry.
The Role
As Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing a high volume of invoices and payments across multiple events and projects. With numerous purchase ledgers to manage, you will need to be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and comfortable working to tight deadlines.

- Manage the Accounts Payable inbox, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Process a large volume of weekly purchase invoices and payments across multiple events and projects.
- Manage petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and other day-to-day bookkeeping duties.
- Provide support with Sales Ledger activities when required.
- Assist the wider Finance team with ad hoc accounting duties and projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple events.
- Work closely with the wider Finance team to ensure invoices, payments and reconciliations are completed within agreed deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role.
- Experience within the sports, events, media, entertainment or live events sector would be advantageous.
- Experience working across multiple projects, events or cost centres would be beneficial.
- Xero and Sage experience is essential.
- Strong Excel skills would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required.
- A genuine team player with strong communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
